We started out day out at 4:30 ish AM and got ready to leave. I had my Husband, Mom, and sister Debbie coming with me. I didn't really know what to expect but I didn't think that I had started labor yet at all. I had pains down my legs and back pain but they weren't bad and I hadn't associated them with labor... My Mom did though. Debbie knew too. I wasn't sure what to think. We were on the road by 5 AM. My doctor is in South Sacramento, so we drove an hour from Yuba City to get there. When we got there they checked me in gave me my hospital gown and told me i had to wait an hour for the shift change for my nurse. I wasn't upset about that cause i was actually a little nervous. Okay maybe a lot nervous. When the nurse got there she checked to see how dilated i was. I had dialated to a 2. She hooked me up to all the machines I was supposed to be hooked up to and said she would come back to check on me. The Doctor came in a while after that and checked to make sure everything was alright. He broke my water and they attached a monitor to the baby's head. I said I wanted an epidural and wanted to know when i would be able to get it. He told me I could have it whenever i wanted. I slept through most things. About 10ish we got my epidural and then they started the pitocin. I could feel my stomach tightening with the contractions but i felt no pain. I slept through most of the day. At about 5 PM I was dialated to a 10 and was ready to push. I pushed for about an hour and 10 minutes. She would come close to coming out but would go back when i stopped pushing. That's when the pain started. The doctor gave me an episiotamy (however that's spelled) and he had to use forcepts. My baby had a big head and a big body. she weighed 9 pounds 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Well any way after that i was shaking really bad and things started to go down hill from there. I had to take medicine to help me clot because i lost so much blood. They gave me a turkey and stuffing with mashed potato dinner. I couldn't eat it. I ate a few bites but that was it. later that night i the nurse came in and pressed on my stomach. I had a big clot and lots of blood came out with it. I started to pass out when she tried to help me to the bathroom. I couldn't get up. I had another clot.. more blood came with it. after all this i lost half my blood. I ended up in the hospital for 4 days. It was a big pain. I was very happy when I could get the IV out of my hand. It was a long 4 days. I even ended up with a rash on my back from the tape that held the epidural in place. Even after all that I think i will still be interested in having more.

We went to the doctor yesterday ( Thursday) and She is growing great! Normal rate everything is fine! We are super excited! My doctor is awesome! He does Ultra-sounds EVERY time i see him just cause he likes to. He doesn't get paid for all of them either. The man is awesome! Any way, He decided to do 3D yesterday for us cause it's on his equipment and she was laying with her feet up near my left ribs and her face was on my right side diagonally so that her head was pointed down. ( If that made sense, i tend to not do that these days) She had her face against my uterine wall and so it was hard for him to get the pictures to not be blurry. I was excited any way. the last picture had the best clarity. I was also told that that was my last monthly check up. I will go back in a month but i will go twice next month and then after that it is weekly. I just had my 28 week check up. I went in this morning to have my diabetes test and they tested me for hypo-thyroid. Then i started to freak out because the vein they poked got fat and hard and stung like crazy. I was told it's normal but I've never had that happen to me before. Chris is already talking about how he is going to interview any boys she dates and he is going to buy a gun to clean it in front of them when he interviews them. His dad told me he favored a shot gun shell with the boys signature on it. I was entertained by them both! Chris's home work has improved. He did his homework on his favorite sushi restaurant Satori's. The owner loved his work. We haven't framed any of it yet, even the collage of our wedding pictures, but one day we will. His next class is going to be more of the animating program rather than photo shopping. He's so excited. I am going to give him a fathers day card on Sunday. He gave me a card for mothers day. Any way, I'll put up more stuff when i get it!

Chris's Latest Homework!

Chris is taking photoshop now and this is a collage he did for his first assignment. His second assignment is pretty cool too but it's not finished yet! He took a bunch of Disney Characters and make them all black and white and fit them all into one picture and made them look like they belonged there. It's pretty cool. His next assignment sounds like he might be trying to do marketing for a sushi restaurant his family likes to eat at. It should be fun! chris will probably want to eat there too! darn it! I don't really dare try it because i hate fish! Any way! I just thought people would like to see this pretty thing he did!

SHE'S A GIRL!!!!!!

We went to the doctor and found out that the baby is a girl! We are naming her Ivie Lynn. As soon as I can get pictures scanned from the ultra sounds I will make sure they are posted. So far the due date is still the same, September 11th. We are very excited. Chris had no preference on gender he just wanted to have a healthy baby. So we are excited! Chris's parents don't have a granddaughter yet. So it's going to be fun on his side. It will be fun on my side as well even though their are 6 already. Any way, Updates are coming I just wanted to make sure I posted on here the gender of the baby!!!

Baby Update

So at my first doctors appointment I found that I am 3 months on the 11th. I am due, so far, on September 11th. Not my favorite date. It will do for now thoough. I hope it changes to a better some what earlier date like the 7th or the 9th.... or even the 31st of august. Early is good with me. I don't hate being pregnant, I just want my nose back. And I wouldn't mind not being queasy so often. I think having my energy back would be nice. Any way, my next doctor appointment is on the 20th. Guesses are starting to be made about the gender, height, weight, and due date. If you want to guess feel free. I don't mind. My mom started this game on a family blog sight! Luckily I am sharing the spot light with my cousin shanda. She is pregnant also, I'm not alone in the spotlight. I don't do spot light so well on my own. If you don't believe me ask my siblings about how I looked when I walked down the aisle. I am trying to keep in mind that this is a fun game, especially since is my first child. So far I'm doing alright with it. I still feel awkward trying to tell people that I am pregnant. It was weird even telling my ob-gyn that I'm pregnant because his receptionist didn't tell him that's why I was there. Any way, the ditsy and clumsy stuff that can comes with preggo syndrome is hitting me very well. Any way, more updates to come. sorry if all this is jumbled and messy. If you understand it I might be getting better!!!

PREGO MY EGGO

AS TIFFANY WOULD SAY I AM PREGO MY EGGO! My expected due date so far is September 15th! Besides some puking and being rather sleepy all the time i'm actually not having a bad time. I should be going to a doctor here soon. The bad part here is that i don't have a job, and chris's doesn't have insurance. BUT i applied for medical and hopefully will be approved soon! Any way, lots to do! I just wanted to update this!

Changes

Things are slowly improving. They could have been worse I suppose. The good news is that chris has started back into school in 3 years he will have his bachlors of science in Media arts and Animation. he wants to make movies like Pixar or do the animation part of special effects for movies, or work for EA games. He is very excited. He is still working for the School district in our area as an instructional Assistant. and they are thinking about on his days at work that he might "teach" an art type class for their twilight program where there are a bunch of students who stay after school to do home work and stuff. that will look excellent on his resume. we are very excited. I hoping this flys by fast. if i get a job soon then we should be doing just fine. untill then things are getting very tight for us. Any way, That's the new!

Update!

so we just went and got pictures taken with my inlaws, minus my mother and father in law, because it is for their christmas presants. we had lots of fun with it. we are looking for work, hoping we find something. we have lots of stuff to do for thanksgiving, christmas is coming we have a christmas eve party to go to not to mention it's our First christmas as a married couple so we are excited. We miss our friends out in utah. It was lots of fun being able to live out there. Chris is sad that we wont be there for the Snow. He's CRAZY. Any way, i'm going brain dead right now so i'll update more later. I just thought i would show off a couple of the pictures we took. In the first picture we took the girl in front is my sister in law Amber behind her on the right obviously is is me, next to me is my sister in law Alycia, behind me is, of course, chris, with Mario, Alycia's husband holding their son antonio, next to him, and then stephen my other brother in law. Chris is the Oldest followed by Alycia, Then amber, and stephen is last. Any way, that's all i can think of for now!

THE Dress

SO i finally went and got my wedding dress. IT IS ABSOLUTELY perfect because it is very very me. We are all moved in to the house with mom and dad in West Jordan. And the plans are moving along quickly. I need my something Old and Something borrowed.... and Something BLUE (the garter obviously)!!!! But it's going great. Any way, Lots of stuff going on.... but too much to write about. I will post pictures eventually but i don't want to post it here for a while because chris is always around. If you have any ideas I am always up for some! (I do apologize if somehow it isn't used or if we can't use it if you offer up ideas).

Offical Bridesmaid Dress

This is the official bridesmaid dress. The sage (or green) dress is the one we are going with. All the girls are going to be in this color. the men will be in lt blue and we are probably going to add in some navy. We could put the parents in the navy. It's to add some contrast for the flowers. but shades of blue will look good. So here you go! Things are finializing now.

Center pieces

Okay So these are the pictures of what I could come up with for the center pieces. Hopefully It looks okay. The vase has those clear and colored shiny pebble things you stick at the bottem of fish tanks and they are a light green color. There is a rose floating at the top of both sets. The top four have a chain of leaves and roses leaves and another flower that i dunno what it is but it's kinda cute. and the other one is the same thing for the vase but it has the wreath with ivy, stephonatis and leaves in it. I added extra Ivy to it. Hopefully It doesn't look too fake. Tell me what you think. The wedding is set for April 26 with reception to follow, and open house in utah about a week later. Okay, So still no news. No new wedding plans. and still no job. A couple of interviews but still no offers. It's not lookling like I will be finding anything soon. I don't have much to say this time around. Have a good week!

Hey, I don't have anything to report. I am working on finishing my Accounting course to get my certificate. Oddly I really like it so far. I am almost done. I have been job searching too but haven't really been getting any where with that. Chris has been visiting with me and my brother up in Yuba City, bringing one of my best friends Drea with him. It's been fun. No wedding plans have really been made lately. We really don't have a date yet either. I'm not happy with this, but there isn't much to do. Chris and I discuss it but nothing really happens after that. We are working on our scrapbooks together every now and then, well okay once we have. Any way, that's really it. Sorry it took so long for a post!!!

The Latest

Okay, So I just moved to Yuba City to be closer to Chris. And Well there isn't much to report right now. When we start finalizing stuff there will be more in here. Now we are just getting things settled in and we are making sure the date of july 12th is Do -able. Any way, when i get more to say in here i will let you know what is going on. We are still tryin to plan on April to go out to Utah and get the dresses for myself and all the maids and matrons. Any way, More later!

Okay, so I don't want to wait untill July to get married, and i just found out that one of my brides maids may not be able to come. Aubrey, who is practically my twin. But that's okay. July i think is usually her family reunion time so she may be in Colorado. Any way, things are looking pretty good. I bought some books for the scrap books already and they come with a bunch of neat matching supplies. Chris's book will be blue and brown and mine will be purple and green. we each have a 12x12 and an 8x8 book to use for the table for people to look at on the way in thru the line that mom insists that we have. I should be out in Sacramento on Saturday the 15th of december, Chris and i are going to amtrak it down to Fremont to pester Debbie and Jennie and we were debating on crashing there for the night so i can spend time with them. He still needs to meet Ella, Brandon, and Tiffany. He's super excited. He and i are betting on what tiffany will do when she meets him. I bet on her getting kinda hyper, she tends to do that around me any way. but we want to spend time down there, I wanna go to the great mall for another hair peice! SO, looks like i need to call my sisters and see what their plans are for the 15th and see who all will be there so we can plan it. We need more pictures taken too so we are hoping to get some while we are down there and maybe while i am up in sacramento. So lots to plan. I am also trying to plan something special for his birthday. If you have any ideas i recomend e-mailing me cause he actually checks this (email me at risahard@gmail.com)! haha!But i do need ideas, AND DEBBIE YOU ARE GOOD AT THOSE! melanie too! Oh and melanie wanted to know where mom and dad might be going next, and so far it looks like OceanSide Cali. 2 hours from sunny san diego. I am gonna go visit there with them because i wanna drive by the San Deigo Temple and hit the beach too! I might drag chris with me too that will be great fun. SO if you have any ideas on the birthday thing let me know! As for melanie's idea of the collage mom likes that too so we may do that for the pictures of us and maybe a scrap book too but mom likes the collage idea the scrap books are of him and i growing up. So if you guys end up with any other ideas for the reception let me know! THANKS!

Date Change

SO in order to make things work for us with the green paper we decided to move the date of the wedding to July 12th instead. This way Chris's Sister will have had her baby and his other sister will be back from hawaii (hopefully). I want them both to be there. Obviously he does too. So we are trying to work it out for family to be able to be there for the wedding. ANy way, we got some scrap books to use 2 12 X12 and 2 8X8 scrap books to use for the wedding reception and we will need all the help we can get for creating them. I already know chris' is going to help. Dad said he would. And obviously my 2 sisters are scrapbook queens who i know will be willing to help. I will be in Sacramento on the 15th of December. I go home on the 23rd to spend christmas with the RENTS and then i will be in Tucson for a little longer. When mom and dad move i will be moving too. but i don't know where too yet. Any way when i get more news and info i will let everyone know. I'm still looking into ideas for the reception. Chris's Family has this friend who is going to make Mints for us. we are excited. Any way. There's the news!

Okay so for all of you wonderfully " nosey" people (as my sister put it) out there I am just giving you an update on the LATEST in our busy lives! So since my dad had 500 cards to make for work........ I haven't really been updating here. I try to update at work when i am inbetween calls because tech support is awesome and you don't get call after call. I try to update, but haven't been able to lately. And I have been working 10 hour days lately too so if i wasn't working Over Time i was at home helping my parents make the cards. So Now that that is over and i have some spare time i thought i would update! I don't have much to report Chris has been a little busy with school and spending time with family and I have work and my Accounting Homework. So not much on the wedding front to report. We are still trying to decide how to do things for colors and such. I am debating also on having chris and myself create scrap books of ourselves from when we were little to now for a display table for people to look at but books like that take some time. I need some ideas here! Any one have wedding ideas please feel free to e-mail me or leave a comment to let me know!

Chris and I had decided on May 24th as our wedding day! We are currently deciding on what to do for everything. I am trying to find out who would want to go with me in April out to Utah for the DRESS SHOPPING. Because the Eternity bridal store is located in Utah there are some in Nor CAL but i don't really want to go up there i want to go where the best selection is. SO I am planning a trip out there in april ... AFTER TAXES (if you do it early and online of course) . So any one interested on going so they can get their dress let me know okay?

OKAY here's the deal on the Bridesmaid/Matron dresses! I don't have any particular one in mind. So we can take a vote. Add a comment on this page and let me know which you like best i deffinately think TIFFANY my maid of Honor will be in the fairy looking on in Sage all the other women WILL BE IN THE BLUE! The best man will be one of Chris's mission companions, Layne Hannemann, and he will be in Sage as well.Everyone else will be in blue... Minus Chris.. we don't know what to do with him yet. I want him in Sage so we will see. ( The men in sage i mean vests and ties kind of a thing) Mom and I discussed having all of my nephews in blue bowties with cummberbuns. SO let me know what you think. I have dresses for Kaylee, Jessica, Ella, and Ally, and if Taylor is going to be there I will be getting one for her too. DRESS OPTIONS

Okay So these are the brides maid dresses if we find people prefer the periwinkle I may convince chris to change the blue to periwinkle instead. but i love the sage dresses and the lace up balerina looking dress i love for TIFFANY who is going to be my maid of honor. All of these dresses are at the eternity bridal store http://www.eternitystore.com/default.aspx and it is based in Utah. So that is why they are all MODEST which is what i am looking for. Wedding Colors

We have decided to go with Sage and a light Blue for the wedding colors. The Flower Girls (Ally, Jessica, and Ella are honorary flower girls, their dresses are VERY CUTE! and Kaylee is our Flower Girl) will be in Sage along with the men. The Bridesmaids and matrons will be in light blue. So far we have found plenty of flower arrangements for my bouquet and my mom and I have decided the brides maids will have wrist corsages rather than bouquets. Kaylee will have a flower ring to go in her hair and a basket holding the favors she will pass those out in the line. Mom insists that we have the line for about an hour and a half. We are also discussing the song selections right now. Since we have 7 and a half months we are focusing on some what little stuff for now. I am going to add in pictures of things we like. I went to Nogales with Aunt Sue and Sue and Mom and Dad and we went past this little shop on the way out of America and they had these really cute little girls formals so we bought the flowergirl dresses and they are just adorable I don't think i will put thos pictures on here though you will see pictures of them from the wedding in may unless it's your dress you will see them when mom takes them out there next. the next blog will show the brides maid matron dresses that i like.

WE ARE ENGAGED!

As of September 29th 2007 WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!!!!!! We Went out in the morning on the 29th with Mom and Dad Hard to Tombstone to see the old historical town to walk around and see what's it was like there and after we took some very fun photos around town we headed back to Tucson where we went out to Olive Garden for Dinner and then up to a scenic spot around sunset where CHRIS POPPED THE QUESTION! It was super sweet! The next day we celebrated 22 years of RISA! WOO HOO!

Church we ate an incredible dinner of Filet Mignon, mashed potatoes, nomande style veggies. Peach pie for desert later that evening (birthday girls favorite).

We then drove up Mt. Lemon to get some pictures taken for potential engagment photos and these are a few of them here.

A Few pictures were taken on the 1st of October around the apartment complex here in Tucson. Tucson is brown and rather ugly so we were limited as to where to go for good scenery.

But it was a good weekend. We will post more pictures soon we just need to get them all aranged and picked out. In Novemeber we will get more pictures taken and they will be placed on here as well! Some of the pictures were just for fun but we will post those eventually as well... LATER!
